Their most recent milestone is the approval by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) to begin providing additional disability services. In addition to their behavioral day programs SECA now offers Respite Care (in-home relief for caregivers) and a Community Connector Program (trained therapists attend community events with clients such as Scout meetings or church services). No other respite care providers in Pueblo County have staff trained to work with children with ASD. Their training is what distinguishes SECA. Many of their students have been expelled from regular daycare centers due to their behaviors. SECA’s staff is trained to de-escalate and re-direct inappropriate behaviors. They do not dismiss children because of their behaviors; they work with them to see them through to a better way. As such, they have several parents waiting for their final approval.
Another major milestone for them is the purchase of their first building in May 2010. Their new facility has more than doubled their workspace and has enabled them to move forward into new projects. Their new facility is located at 125 W. Palmer Lake Drive, Pueblo West, CO and has over 5000 square feet to expand our services.

Soaring Eagles Center’s mission is to offer respectful involvement in the lives of families who include children/persons with autism through providing education, advocacy, preparation and intervention. Their goal is to preserve always the dignity, independence, and heightened self determination of their clients. They envision their clients and their families functioning optimally and coping effectively in our society
