In the aftermath of the proclamation of the independence of the Ivory Coast, a strong innovative current is exerted on the banking institutions. Societe Generale is making a profound reconversion of the activity of its Ivorian branch, which has been open since 1941. It strengthens its resources by providing it with three wickets operated by the African Commercial Bank which it bought on July 15, 1962. The whole is brought to a new entity, Société Générale Côte d'Ivoire, November 23, 1962.
Société Générale Côte d'Ivoire is founded with the participation of the public authorities and several international financial partners of the first order, among which:
Values
Team spirit
In their changing world, their clients want a bank that is a responsible, trusted and agile partner. As a team, they respond to their needs with a spirit of service nourished by the diversity of expertise and knowledge of each. They want to become the reference relational bank and work with their customers as they want to work between us: listening, co-construction, valuing contributions, solidarity in success as in difficulties.
Innovation
They want to continually improve the customer experience by working together to adapt their solutions, practices and relationships to the uses of tomorrow, taking advantage of technological innovations. True to their entrepreneurial spirit, they transform their ways of working by cultivating sharing, experimentation and reasoning in a break. They learn from their successes as well as their failures.
Responsibility
As bankers, they contribute to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the economies in which they work. They want to help their customers realize their projects while being aware of the risks in all their components. Their responsibility and their ethics are to respond to the needs of their customers with speed, preserving the long-term interest of all stakeholders in disciplined compliance with the rules of their business. Their responsibility is also expressed through the courage to take their actions and decisions and to express their opinions with transparency. Finally, it is as important to how to achieve the results as the results themselves.

Their commitment is fueled by the enduring satisfaction of their customers and the pride they have in their businesses and their Group. Together, they strive daily to make a difference to contribute to the success of their clients as well as their projects. They promote the professional involvement and achievement of all.
