SNE enjoys a monopoly on the production, distribution and use of electrical energy in Chad. One of its objectives is to supply electricity throughout the national territory as a state enterprise. The electricity production park consists of several power plants

The electrical energy produced by the SNE is of thermal origin; that is to say, it is produced from groups whose total production capacity is 22 MW (for the N'djamena plant). It has 17 groups at the N'djamena power plant, of which only 11 operate normally with a production capacity of 12.5 MW, for various reasons (cooling problem, overhauls of certain engines and spare parts for which orders come from. outside).
