Established in 2008, 

SAAFI is a community-based organisation in Brent founded and led by British-Somali mums to help each other and their children for positive Integration. SAAFI extended its services for all the communities that English is not their first language to:

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Provide advice, information and guidance for the Ethnic communities who English is not their first language particularly women and children
Promote the welfare and positive integration for refugees and migrants through training and workshops
Facilitate access to the support necessary for the integration for refugees and migrants particularly single parents and their children in the country
 Increasing the awareness of socially excluded communities mainly women about opportunities accessing them employment and self-employment.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES:

1. Advice, information and guidance for all communities in Brent. SAAFI is a member of BACN (Brent Advice and Community Network) and we regularly 
2. Youth Mentoring and coaching at Round Wood Youth Centre and Harlesden Library.
3. Heritage and cultural activities - we curated the lives of Somalis in Brent exhibition in 2014 and Somalis in WW1 in 2018/19. We are also a leading Somali organisation in Brent libraries to provide  workshops on Somali traditional crafts making.
4. Pre- level English classes for all communities at The Yellow in Wembley to build their confidence and communicate

The overall goal of SAAFI is to set up the first ever Migrant Women’s center in Brent offering a range of training and workshops to links to other organisations and a place to meet.
