Song Da Corporation is a state-owned enterprise established in 1961 ( Decision No. 214 / TTg dated 01/6/1961 of the Prime Minister's Office on the establishment of the Steering Board for Thac Ba Hydroelectric Power Plant ). The company focuses on the main business areas of building power plants, infrastructure, transportation, industrial plants, civil works; Manufacture and supply of construction materials and equipment; Construction technology, real estate business.
Song Da Corporation is the main contractor for most hydroelectric projects in Vietnam, such as Son La Hydropower (2.400 MW) - South East Asia's largest hydropower project, Hoa Binh hydropower plant (1,920 MW) Huu Quang hydropower plant (520 MW), Huỳ Quảng Hydropower plant (520 MW), EPC contractor for some other projects such as Tuyen Quang (324MW), Sesan 3 (260MW) MW) ... Song Da occupies 85% of the domestic market share in hydropower construction, becoming the largest contractor in this sector in Vietnam. Song Da Corporation also expanded its operations to Laos with Xekaman 1 (322MW) hydroelectric projects, including Xekaman Sanxay, Xekaman 3 (250MW), Xekaman 4, Namthuen ... in which Xekaman 1 and Xekaman 3 hydropower has gone into commercial power generation.
Song Da is also one of the leading contractors in Vietnam for the construction of underground works and transport works, which have carried out over hundreds of kilometers of tunnels, especially Hai Van tunnel with the NATM method. Other traffic projects such as Lang Hoa Lac highway, National Highway 1A, National Highway 10, National Road No. 18, Ho Chi Minh Road, Hai Van Tunnel, Ngang Pass Tunnel, Ca Pass ..., high speed railway construction in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City ... The corporation now has nearly 15,000 skilled workers and staff, of which nearly 3000 technicians and managers graduated from undergraduate or postgraduate.
