In 1995, in response to the demand of the track repair market, Wiesław Michnik started independent business activity, resigning from many years of work in PKP. In this way the Torowo Welding Company "SPAW-TOR" was created. At the beginning of the activity, the owner equipped the welding brigade with two burners and modern equipment for thermite welding of rails using SoWoS and PLA methods. IN 1998year launched a team regeneration of switches and rails in the track, implementing investments in the field of: purchase of trucks and their adaptation for transport, high power generators, track grinders, burners for heating rails, electronic rail thermometers, modern welders and powder wire feeders.
The modern technology used allowed to obtain higher hardness and strength of regenerated elements than new ones before welding. Additional advantages of this method are performing regeneration in the track, without traffic closures and costly replacement of elements. IN 2001of the year - another investment and new technology - purchase of a welding machine for regeneration of tram rails by welding with solid wire in powder flux casing. This is followed by further purchases of equipment and the next large truck. Its adaptation for the needs of track works consisted of installing a high power generator to supply and illuminate the track works site and equipping with track grinders, lamps illuminating the work site, etc.
In this way, work can be carried out at night when there is no tram traffic. IN 2002next purchase: IVECO Dally truck with container and elevator as well as QAS 78 generator and ESAB A6 welding automaton with power source and control cable. The year 2003 also began with new investments, such as the purchase of two Atlas Copco generators and an ESAB welding machine. In order to increase the quality of services rendered, we have implemented the ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System. IN 2004The company started production of self-propelled grinders, for which it received technical approval from CNTK.
The following years are further development and modernization of the company's operations. Experience and knowledge as well as knowledge of the industry enabled rapid development and expansion of the company, and the experience gained allowed for a systematic increase in the scope of specialized services. Innovation and the use of modern technological solutions have made the company one of the best track repairs on the market in the country. The use of modern equipment has significantly reduced the lead time and reduced the cost of services compared to competing companies. The employment of experienced employees with confirmed qualifications and specialist authorizations enabled the company to perform works of high difficulty and risk in all environmental conditions.
