About

São Paulo Transporte S / A - SPTrans was created on March 8, 1995, in replacement of the Municipal Transportation Company - CMTC, which had its operational activities transferred to the private sector. The company SPTrans was created to operate in the management of the city's public passenger transportation system.

The company was set up to meet and promote the system planning and scheduling of lines and fleet, inspection, collection, hiring and remuneration of operating companies. It also works in the area of technological development with studies and research on new solutions for adapting non-polluting fuels in the existing fleet and other mechanisms, aiming to improve safety, comfort, accessibility, speed, fuel economy and lower environmental impact.

SPTrans is responsible for managing one of the largest bus transportation systems in the world and the numbers that make up this scenario prove the size of this service. The service by bus in the city is not for ever. They are 24 hours a day and seven days a week, promoting the displacement of people. An average of 10 million passengers a day are transported in a fleet comprising 14,500 registered collectives, which run on 3 million kilometers on weekdays, which means 74 rounds around the earth. These buses carry 200 thousand trips scheduled on working days and are distributed in 1,300 lines, of which 150 are part of the Night - Bus network of the Madrugada, from 0 to 4h.

This scenario guarantees SPTrans with you throughout the city.
