Staffordshire North and Stoke-on-Trent Citizens Advice Bureaux is a registered charity (no.1001204) and company limited by guarantee (no. 2402902). They are regulated by the Legal Aid Agency, the Financial Conduct Authority (no.617751) the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner (no. N200200617) and hold the Advice Services Alliance's Advice Quality Standard and the Specialist Help Quality Mark.

They are one of over 300 Citizens Advice Bureaux based in local communities around the country. Together with the national association, Citizens Advice, they are the Citizens Advice Service.

Mission and Aims
Locally the mission has been defined as:

  • To empower those who experience poverty and inequality to improve their lives

and equally

  • Let society know the effect of poverty and inequality on people and convince policy makers to take action

They are a member of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (known as Citizens Advice) and they work to achieve the aims of the Citizens Advice service, which are:

  • To provide the advice people need for the problems they face.

and equally

  • To improve the policies and practices which affect people’s lives.

The service they offer is independent, free, confidential, independent and impartial.
