About

Dushanbe is located in the Gissar Valley, at the confluence of the Varzob River and the Kofarnihon River, with hot and dry summers, high water evaporation in summer, autumn and spring, uneven distribution of precipitation throughout the year and large amplitude of annual temperature changes (-14С + 42С) is described.

Annual precipitation varies in the range of 453-810 mm, and 65% (percent) of it falls in the spring.

The Varzob River divides the city into two parts - the Left Bank and the Right Bank. The slope of the site within the city is 200 meters, the terrain is sedimentary yellow (part of the left bank) and gravel (part of the right bank). Seismic condition of Dushanbe Dushanbe is estimated at 8-9 on the Richter scale.

Centralized water supply of Dushanbe Dushanbe was founded in 1932. The initial capacity of the water treatment facility was 16,000 m3 / day. The structure of the water treatment plant included horizontal sediments, chimney mixers, remote fencing chambers, horizontal sedimentation sinks, rapid filters, a freshwater reservoir with a capacity of 500 m³, and a secondary pumping station. The station was called "Napornaya" because after the clay sediments, water was pumped to other facilities by means of pumps located in the pumping station of the second level. Its source of water is the Varzob River, which is 16 km away. above the city water is taken.

The increase in the city's demand for water was the basis for the construction of another station, called "Khudjori" ("Samotechny"), which was commissioned in 1957. The source of water supply for this station is also the Varzob river.

In 1972, an underground water storage facility was commissioned in the southeastern part of the city on the Kofarnihon River (IOC), and in 1977, a water storage facility was commissioned in the southwestern part of the city, which is called the Southwest Reservoir. Western ”.

Currently, Dushanbe city is supplied with water through four water storage facilities with a design capacity of 520,000 m3 / day. Two of them are surface and have a design capacity of 204,000 m³ / day.

Preparation of water for consumption from the surface source is carried out by processing reagents, sedimentation, filtration (filtration) in fast filters and disinfection. Groundwater treatment is carried out only by disinfection. The total area occupied by the Department of Internal Affairs in terms of production capacity is 311.3 hectares, of which the territory of water storage facilities - 169.2 hectares, water treatment facilities - 130.4 hectares, the remaining 117 hectares belong to other ancillary production shops.
