Svendborg International Maritime Academy – SIMAC is Denmark’s largest maritime education centre featuring three education programmes and approx. 600 students, a training department, SIMAC Training with approx. 800 students per year and approx. 70 employees.
SIMAC was formed in 2001, following a merger of Kogtved Seafaring School, A.P. Møller Maersk Training school, Svendborg School of Marine Engineering, and Svendborg Navigation School.
Since they are a self-governing national educational institution, their programmes are governed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, including the consolidation act on maritime educations.
