About

Teach For Lebanon (TFL) is Lebanese NGO and member of the 53-nation global network, Teach For All.

TFL’s founder and first CEO, Ali Dimashkieh, became aware that Lebanon faces a number of education-related problems and resolved to address them by creating TFL, a program dedicated to improving the quality of education in Lebanon by providing quality education for less privileged children.

Since 2009, TFL employs, trains and places some of Lebanon’s best graduates in under-resourced schools for two consecutive years, in a mission to minimize the educational gap. These ambitious fresh graduates, Fellows, from various academic backgrounds serve as full-time teachers, leaders, community ambassadors and life-coaches fighting against these inequalities throughout the region, for two consecutive years.

As an organization, they staunchly believe that quality education is not just a simple human right but it is also a weapon to reinforce tolerance, critical thinking, and social cohesion, which leads to a more prosperous, democratic, and sustainable world. Education is critical for economic growth as it leads to the country’s development by enabling learners to earn better wages and livelihoods which is vital to also escape poverty.
