The mission of Teen Success, Inc. is to help underserved teen mothers and their children become educated, self-sufficient, valued members of society.
Teen Success, Inc. believes that every teen mother can be and deserves the opportunity to be successful.
Everyday they empower and inspire teen mothers to reach their potential because if they don't, their chances of breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children are greatly diminished.
Each year, Teen Success, Inc. helps teen mothers throughout the state of California complete high school and develop the skills to nurture their child's positive development.
The original Teen Success support group program was initiated in 1990 by former California State Senator Becky Morgan with the establishment of the first group in Cupertino. In 2011, Ms. Morgan founded Teen Success, Inc. as an independent nonprofit organization to have deeper and broader impact.
APPROACH
Teen Success, Inc. is dedicated to building each of their member's confidence and knowledge base to make empowered choices. While most services for teen mothers focus on problems and use a top-down approach of providing resources, Teen Success, Inc. focuses on developing socio-emotional skills and positive relationships. Teen Success, Inc.’s Advocates empower teen mothers by developing their social and emotional assets as foundations for success; meanwhile, the peer group dynamic allows members to gain strength through relationships in a judgement free environment. Teen Success, Inc. members can make positive, informed decisions for themselves and their children, allowing them to pave a path to success for themselves and their families.
