Thames Reach
About

Thames Reach is a London- based charity helping homeless and vulnerable people to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Their vision is to end street homelessness.

Thames Reach helps homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. In this way, they hope to achieve their vision of ending street homelessness.

They support people with experience of homelessness as well as vulnerable or isolated men and women who may be in danger of becoming homeless. They specialise in helping people with complex and multiple needs, including mental health issues and drug and alcohol problems.

Philosophy
Thames Reach will never give up on someone, no matter how complex their needs or chaotic their behaviour.

They believe that the opinions and beliefs of the people who use their services should be treated with respect. They actively involve these people in the running of the organisation and their views inform the way they operate.

People
Thames Reach employs over 300 staff members and around 90 volunteers. They value diversity and life experience, and 22 per cent of their workforce is made up of formerly homeless people. Over the course of one year the charity helped 7,130 people.

Funding
Thames Reach works closely with partners in both central and local government to fund their range of services helping people access advice and support, address health or financial needs and move towards independent living. They also receive funding from various trusts and grant making organisations.

However, they rely heavily on the generous donations from individuals and corporate organisations to fund much of their work – in fact many of their programmes could not run without this vital support.

Governance
Thames Reach is governed by a Board of Trustees, who have ultimate responsibility for the charity’s work. They have no religious or political affiliations.
