Founded in 1983, The Advocates for Human Rights is a volunteer-based, non-governmental and non-profit organization comprising more than 1200 members dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights worldwide.

The Advocates impartially and independently investigates and exposes human rights violations; represents victims of human rights abuses; trains and assists groups that protect human rights; educates the public, policy-makers and children; and promotes the universal acceptance of international human rights standards.
