The Alternative (Denmark)

The Alternative (Danish: Alternativet) is a green political party in Denmark. The party was publicly launched on 27 November 2013 by former Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk and Josephine Fock [da], the first of whom had been Members of Parliament for the Social Liberal Party. Elbæk was the leader of the party until February 2020, where he stepped down and was succeeded by Josephine Fock. It collaborates with DIEM 25 at the European level. They are the green party and movement of Danmark. They work towards making Denmark the best country in and for the world through a serious sustainable transition of society - Environmentally, socially and economically. They dream of an open and honest political debate based on a genuine interest in listening to each other and finding shared solutions to shared problems. They want a political debate that builds a democratic bridge between the politicians and the citizens.
