The ELMA Relief Foundation supports relief efforts for populations affected by both natural and man-made disasters, with a special emphasis on children.
ELMA Relief investments fall into three clusters:
Response – meeting the urgent needs of affected communities in a timely manner immediately following disaster onset
Recovery – rebuilding communities following a disaster
Risk Reduction – alleviating the suffering of underserved low-income communities affected by cyclical and predictable disasters
While The ELMA Relief Foundation may invest anywhere in the world, special consideration is given to opportunities where The ELMA Foundation’s investments in improving the lives of children in Africa may be leveraged.
With offices in New York City, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Kampala, ELMA Philanthropies develops program strategies, identifies and explores grant and other investing opportunities, monitors investment performance, and establishes philanthropic relationships for The ELMA Group of Foundations. The ELMA Group of Foundations is focused on improving the lives of children in Africa through health and education, providing relief to communities affected by humanitarian crises, investing in the growth of high potential social enterprises in Africa, and supporting youth development through music in the United States.
