Early information indicates that government procurement has been done once in a centralized and in another decentralized manner since 1935. This means:-
From 1935 to 1950, the procurement of all government offices was carried out through the Ministry of Finance, and the implementation was subject to significant delays and occasional service interruptions, so the Ministry of Finance was forced to discontinue this process completely.
Following the regular reforms, in 1993, the Department of Public Procurement and Property Management had three groups under it, namely:
and creating a new organization, until the Government Procurement Agency was established by decree in 1997, the above-mentioned organization has been carrying out almost all of the major responsibilities assigned by the government according to the procurement directive issued in March 1991.
