The Geneva Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH)
About

CERAH is a joint Centre of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE) - a unique and innovative academic platform for humanitarian action. The Centre has been contributing for the past twenty years to the development of critical thinking and analysis to increase the quality of the humanitarian response, both through education and research.

CERAH offers post-graduate joint degrees delivered by IHEID and UNIGE (a Master, a Diploma and several Certificates of Advanced Studies) as well as Thematic Short Courses (TSC). The highly interactive courses allow participants to analyse a range of issues of high importance to contemporary humanitarianism. They are led by senior academics and experienced humanitarian professionals.

CERAH organizes public events, conferences and workshops with the aim to bringing debates on major contemporary humanitarian challenges and issues, to a broader public than its students and partners.

CERAH's academic staff is also regularly invited to taking part to different international events and fairs and hence, make other actors from the humanitarian action benefit from the Centre's expertise in this field.
