The Hilton Prize Coalition

WHO WE ARE The Hilton Prize Coalition is an independent alliance of the winners of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize — working together globally to advance their unique missions and achieve collective impact in humanitarian assistance, human rights, development, education and health. Now at $2 million, the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize is the world’s largest humanitarian award. The annual award is presented to a nonprofit organization judged to have made exemplary and extraordinary contributions in alleviating human suffering. The Prize helps recognize and advance the efforts of the recipient organizations, and calls attention to the worldwide need for humanitarian aid and support. Coalition members build upon the key qualities that distinguish them as a group, including their collaborative mindset and structure and their knowledge and expertise as sector-leading humanitarian organizations, to create efficiencies and enhance effectiveness. The key area of focus centers on building the next generation of dynamic leaders in the social sector through the Hilton Prize Coalition Fellows Program. The Fellows Program seeks to develop a robust pipeline of leaders who possess not only subject matter skills and expertise, but also the soft leadership skills needed to succeed in the workplace, and who understand and value the importance of collaboration for humanitarian and development organizations to increase effectiveness throughout the sector. The Fellows Program has been a signature pillar of the Hilton Prize Coalition since its inception and will continue to evolve as a best-in-class humanitarian fellowship program. Working in more than 170 countries, the Coalition members can access the resources and expertise of one another to explore innovation and establish best practices and standards that can be shared with the global NGO and donor communities. In addition to the Fellows Program, the Coalition and its members have worked together around topics of shared interest, including the Collaborative Models Program and Storytelling Program. Originally designed to enhance collaborative efforts across humanitarian work as well as amplify the voices and visibility of Laureates, the Collaborative Models Program and Storytelling Program linked Coalition members together in community as winners of the Hilton Humanitarian Prize. The Coalition is governed by a board comprised of the leaders of the Prize-winning organizations and led by the Executive Committee and a Secretariat, Global Impact. The Executive Committee provides leadership to the operating staff and serves as a direct resource to the Secretariat to ensure that operational decisions align with the strategic vision of the Coalition.
