The Kaizen Company offers an alternative approach to development.
The Kaizen Company (Kaizen) delivers solutions that strengthen institutions, improve organizational performance, and enable donors to reduce and eventually eliminate funding in targeted areas.
Kaizen does this by transforming organizations and by creating market incentives for the locally led provision of reform support services. Local service providers respond to these incentives and continue to receive support from Kaizen even after donor funding ceases. In this way, Kaizen harnesses market forces to drive ongoing reform and to ensure sustainability.
THEIR WORK
Their two divisions, Development Assistance and Ongoing Transformation Services (OTS), work together to realize their mission of reducing donor dependency.
The Kaizen Company's Development Assistance (DA)
Kaizen development assistance (DA) supports donor agencies and their clients in achieving their objectives. The focus of Kaizen's role is on strengthening local institutions and organizations most critical to a given development goal.
Kaizen's flagship DA service is the Organizational Self-Assessment Transformation Program (OSTP).
Kaizen's DA initiatives all share the following characteristics:
-Support locally owned and driven organizational reform and transformation.
-Embrace Kaizen, or ongoing improvement at all levels at all times.
-Transfer an understanding of international best practices in the relevant sector.
-Encourage the creation of markets for the local provision of high-quality reform support services.
The Kaizen Company's Ongoing Transformation Services (OTS)
Kaizen's Ongoing Transformation Services (OTS) division employs state-of-the-art knowledge management to provide client organizations with unlimited access to reform resources and international expertise. Information technology-enabled OTS provides emerging market reformers access to myriad ideas, perspectives, and potential approaches to confront the challenges they face. This includes direct support from a Kaizen Client Manager throughout the reform process.
Local organizations and service providers supported through Kaizen's development assistance division are automatically enrolled in OTS, giving them unlimited access to Primary Services. These organizations also receive pro-bono access to Premier Services on a limited basis, utilizing credits accrued during Kaizen's DA project implementation. Through OTS, progressive local reformers are fully empowered to choose and implement their own path to development.
