The Office of Roads, Public Establishment, is governed by Law No. 08/009 of 07/07/2008 laying down general provisions applicable to public establishments and by Decree No. 09/47 of 03/12/2009 laying down the Statutes public institution known as the "Office des Routes".

At the end of the provisions of Article 4 of Decree 09/47 of 3/12/2009, the Office of Roads, Public Establishment with legal personality, has as its object the management of the network of roads of general interest.

General Mission:
- Manage the road network of general interest and related works contracts;
- Assure the function of Engineer Consulting of the Government of the Republic for all questions relating to Routes of General Interest "RIG"

Specific mission:
- To ensure the execution of the studies and the works of maintenance, development, modernization and construction of the Roads of General Interest; as well as bridges, ferries and other structures of this network
- Ensure the management of the National Laboratory of Public Works (LNTP)
- Prepare, as part of national planning, short, medium and long-term programs aimed at achieving its purpose.
