The Springfield Centre is a research, training, and consulting firm based in Durham. They don’t neatly fit into established categories of firms in development. They’re a kind of think-teach-and-do-tank. They’re not a project management company; all of the work we do is technical as are our staff, they don’t sub-contact people to do their work, and, most importantly they have a view on the world which shapes everything they do. They believe development should be transformative. All of their work is trying to improve the systems that help poor and disadvantaged people to get the goods, services, jobs, and incomes that they need to improve their lives without the need for development assistance. This is the essence of sustainable development impact which unites everything they do.
