For over a decade Thembalethu Home Based Care has provided extensive services to the Nkomazi community addressing issues related directly to the HIV and AIDS pandemic; such as the need for home-based palliative services, care of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), provision of nutritional supplements, and education on HIV. They also tackled issues relating indirectly to the HIV and AIDS pandemic, such as the need for poverty alleviation programs, supplemental education and sustainable community development.
Thembalethu is an organization that responds directly to current needs in the community that are not being met by formal institutional programs.
