Thomson Foundation is the world’s oldest international media development organisation, with a 50-year history of training journalists in ethical standards and quality reporting. The foundation works with media organisations, governments, civil society bodies and commercial entities wishing to sponsor professional excellence in communications.

The foundation’s goal is to help every type of media to strive for excellence and to improve public engagement.
They believe that journalists and the media play a vital role in good governance, holding governments and commercial entities to account in the public interest. Mass communication and the free-flow of accurate information via the media also helps to promote social and economic development.
