Tour du Valat, located in the heart of the Camargue, is a research institute for the conservation of Mediterranean wetlands. It has the legal form of a non-profit foundation, recognized for public utility since 1978.

The mission of the Tour du Valat is to ensure the conservation and rational use of Mediterranean wetlands by improving understanding of their functioning and by mobilizing a community of stakeholders.
