Transparency Maroc (TM), an association recognized as a public utility by decree n ° 2.09.391 of June 11, 2009, was created on January 6, 1996, by a group of citizens to deal with an alarming situation of corruption and lack of transparency, ethics, and good governance. It is a non-governmental organization that adheres to the principles contained in the charter of Transparency International, an international organization that has set itself the objective of fighting corruption throughout the world.

Since its creation, Transparency Maroc has included its action to fight corruption within the framework of the democratic movement which works for good governance, the development of citizenship, the promotion of the rule of law, and the establishment of a national integrity system.

MISSION

In general, the Association tries through the various projects that it sets up or through the commissions it has set up, to study the phenomenon of corruption, to better understand it, to inform and guide the various actors in their analyzes and actions. Its mission generally aims to combat corruption in all its forms and therefore help to set up

• - A national integrity system;
• - A democratic environment for the respect of the rights of the individual and his dignity;
• - Harmonious economic and social development;
• - Equity in the distribution of income from economic and social development.

GOALS

To carry out its mission and for its fight against corruption to succeed, Transparency Maroc is committed to:

• - conduct and disseminate studies aimed at a better understanding of the mechanisms of corruption
• - inform public opinion about the various manifestations of corruption through the establishment of a specialized information system capable of ensuring information monitoring
• - involve professional circles, politicians, and other target groups in the promotion of ethics, good governance, and transparency
• - strengthen the will to fight political corruption in government circles
• - assist and provide legal advice to witnesses or victims of corruption
• - involve society in the fight against corruption through partnerships and the establishment of simple, credible, and effective mechanisms.
