UJP PRAHA is engaged in projects that, owing to their nature and level of achievements, contribute significantly to the development of the Czech industry. This is why some of the projects are supported by governmental grants. Such projects include, among others, the building of a medical instrumentation centre for radiation oncology, building of a centre for residual life assessment and controlled ageing procedures for technological units, and the development of special tungsten-based materials. UJP PRAHA's participation in European materials research programmes can be seen as a wide-reaching appreciation of the company's achievements.
UJP PRAHA runs various special facilities licensed by the relevant national authorities, such as a facility for work with uranium metal and uranium compounds and a materials research facility. The company and some of its staff are holders of licenses authorizing them to perform special activities, such as inspections of nuclear installations.
With a view to diversifying the range of its activities, the company launched in 1996 the manufacture of equipment for radiotherapy based on know-how acquired from Chirana company. A cobalt irradiator for radiotherapy is the flag-ship among this instrumentation, although other equipment and facilities for this area of medical services are being developed and marketed as well.
The high level of company performance is documented by the integral quality and environmental management system certifikovaný podle norem EN ISO 9001:2000, EN ISO 13 485:2003 a EN ISO 14 001:2004.
