The Union of Social Workers was founded on April 8, 2019 by 61 social workers. A large-scale and unprecedented strike by social workers at the Social Services Agency has ended. Today we have more than 100 members, both civil servants and non-governmental sector social workers and students.

Their trade union provides legal advice, professional supervision, support to its members in the event of family or work difficulties;

They monitor the implementation of the Action Plan of the Law of Georgia on Social Work; Take care of the promotion of social work as a profession;

They meet students and entrants;

Collaborate with the media to properly cover the mission, mandate and mission of social work and prevent the common mistake of misleading the population, which increases aggression towards social workers;

They advocate for the labor rights of social workers with employers, the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, the Committee on Health and Social Affairs, and others.
