United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is the world’s largest organization representing cities, local, regional, and metropolitan governments, and their associations — encompassing over 250,000 local and regional governments across the globe. UCLG works to represent, defend, and amplify their collective voice, ensuring that no one and no place is left behind. With consultative status before the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), granted in 1947, UCLG conveys the perspectives of local and regional governments to the main UN policymaking and intergovernmental processes.
