United Exports
About

United Exports was initially established as a fruit export business in 2002 by Roger Horak. In order to deliver a consistently premium product, the company was quickly adapted to a vertically integrated model. This enabled them to be present in all facets of the production process, from planting to packaging to delivery.

THEY ARE GROWERS

Production determines the commercial value of their product. Their growers must produce a consistent marketable fruit that their clients and ultimately their customer, the product consumer, wants. For this reason alone, they place paramount importance on the knowledge and success of their growers.

What’s more, production is the revenue engine that allows them the opportunity to reinvest and provide a positive impact on the environment and society.  Being a grower is a responsibility that they accept wholeheartedly, therefore they have a focused strategy on sustainability and the environment.

THEY ARE PROCESSORS

Packing and processing are key for the several commodities they manage. While many commodities are packed on the grower’s farm, a number of commodities require careful management of the cold chain – not only to ensure quality but also to ensure that the product is fresh when it reaches the consumer and delivers on the expected shelf life.

Packing centrally allows the quality of their fruit to be centrally monitored and the fruit specification for the destined customer to be assured. Finally, efficiency of scale allows packing to be done at an optimum price point; this ensures ongoing business sustainability downstream in the value chain.

THEY ARE EXPORTERS

Upstream of every successful commodity business is a successful commercial team that ensures the customers’ requirements are met.  This is how they established themselves as a reputable company, and they pride themselves on the level of service they deliver.

They have a global team of committed and experienced talent based in seven continents. They service their global clients with a single interface in order to successfully deliver on their programmes.

Their commercial function is led out of Europe. They have a “Customer Side” team in market and a “Grower Side” team in each of their production markets.  Based in their agri-hub of Paarl, South Africa, they have a global in-sourced services team for all of their markets.
