The Italian Committee for UNICEF – Fondazione Onlus, often abbreviated as UNICEF Italy, was born in June 1974 and is one of the 33 National Committees present in donor countries, which operate on the basis of a Cooperation Agreement with International UNICEF and according to a joint and continuous planning of its activities.
Like every National Committee, their dual task is to raise funds to support the programs that UNICEF carries out in developing countries and to inform and sensitize the public opinion of their country on the rights and needs of children and of adolescence globally.
To pursue these objectives, they operate through a professional structure and a network made up of thousands of volunteers throughout the country.
