About

UNICEF has been working in Mexico since 1954 in coordination with the government, civil society organizations and the private sector, and guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child to ensure that all children and adolescents see their rights guaranteed. The Convention was signed by Mexico, which has committed to implement it in the country.

Their efforts are focused on ensuring that all our programs and initiatives reach those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable during their childhood and adolescence.

Work in Mexico:

-Monitor the situation of the rights of children and adolescents, through the generation and dissemination of information and analysis.

-Seek to make visible disparities, lags and situations of exclusion and discrimination suffered by girls, boys and adolescents.

-Provide support in cases of natural disasters.

-Advocate in favor of children and with a gender perspective at the level of public policies, laws and budgets.

-Support the government and civil society in strengthening capacities to guarantee access to quality education with cultural relevance for all children and adolescents.

-Promote alliances to mobilize wills and resources in favor of children and adolescents.

-Promote the exchange of innovative initiatives between Mexico and the world.
