About

In addition to field offices with long-term development programs and disaster preparedness in 156 countries and territories, UNICEF is also represented in the rich countries, through so-called national committees. There are a total of 32 such committees and one of these is UNICEF Sweden, which is a non-profit association. UNICEF Sweden was founded in 1954.

UNICEF Sweden is a non-profit association. About 50 people work at their office in Stockholm. Secretary General is Pernilla Baralt.

The National Committees account for 1/3 of UNICEF's total income and have several important tasks:

Collect money for the international development work. Our efforts for the children are entirely dependent on voluntary contributions from private individuals, companies, organizations and governments.

Influence decision-makers and form opinion to create change in, for example, legislation and spark debate on children's rights issues.

Inform and educate about the situation of children, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and UNICEF's work for children's rights.
