About

UNDP's Nordic office is located in FN Byen in Copenhagen. The office represents UNDP in the Nordic countries – Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The office is led by Henrik Fredborg Larsen (since December 2021) and today has a communication and partnership advisor sitting in each of the four Nordic capitals.

The Nordic office is part of UNDP's Office for External Relations and Advocacy and is tasked with maintaining and strengthening UNDP's partnerships with the Nordic countries, as well as spreading awareness of UNDP's mandate and work. The office functions both as a liaison office between the head office in New York and the Nordic member countries, and as a communications office. We seek to reach decision-makers, opinion-makers and the general public through social media and other news channels, and through meetings, public events, presentations and study tours.

UNDP's Nordic office in Denmark annually organizes a series of meetings, panel debates and conferences on current development issues and the 2030 agenda. In order to strengthen knowledge sharing and experience exchange, we bring key UNDP and other UN actors and partners around the world to Denmark to participate in these events. Every year we launch UNDP's Human Development Report and other relevant UNDP knowledge products. In 2016, UNDP's Nordic office in collaboration with MS Actionaid and Globale Gymnasier introduced a new learning site for Danish high school students about the world goals for sustainable development - verdensmålene.dk. In addition, we are a long-standing partner in the Danish communication platform World's Best News together with Danish civil society organizations and a large number of private companies.
