UNDP accompanies Guatemala in its development strategy and contributes to the creation of mechanisms that empower the various actors to promote sustainable human development. UNDP organizes its work around the achievement of results that together contribute to meeting national needs and priorities.
The UNDP contributes to the analysis of the needs for national development that is carried out with the agencies of the United Nations System, the Government of Guatemala and other social actors. This analysis makes it possible to identify development priorities and define the objectives and results to be achieved. As a result, UNDP contributes to the results defined in the United Nations Development Assistance Framework 2015-2019 (“United Nations Development Action Framework” –UNDAF- for its acronym in English).
Likewise, the proposed Country Program is harmonized with the National Development Plan "K'atun: our Guatemala 2032", and the UNDP Strategic Plan 2018-2021.
The United Nations Development Program in Guatemala supports 39 different projects that are framed within three programmatic priorities: Inclusive and Sustainable Development, Rule of Law and Peace, and Active and Inclusive Citizenship.
