UNDP works in Libya with authorities, civil society organizations and private sector partners to promote a peaceful and inclusive transition. They support the path towards sustainable peace through by strengthening local peacebuilding and resilience, democratic governance and facilitating energy transition to mitigate the effects of climate change.   

As an international organization on the ground in 170 countries and territories, we offer an international perspective with local implementation of policies, skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, to help set the foundation for longer-term, inclusive and sustainable development as set out in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Established in Libya in 1976, UNDP consistently adapts its support to meet the country’s priorities. They help the people of Libya create their own path towards sustainable development by strengthening the capacity of public institutions, promoting civic and political engagement, encouraging local development solutions, restoring social infrastructure and services, spurring local economic recovery, and building individual, community and institutional resilience.
