About

The United Nations Organization has had a presence in Venezuela since 1954 through the United Nations Expanded Program for Technical Assistance, an alliance that from 1971 and at the invitation of the national government, became the United Nations Program for the Development (UNDP).

UNDP's functions in Venezuela are based on providing technical assistance through initiatives and successful experiences aimed at capacity development and knowledge management with a multidimensional approach; build national capacities and transfer knowledge to and from Venezuela through South-South cooperation; promote alliances between the different development actors for the multidimensional integration of thematic areas in the construction of sustainable livelihoods, access and quality of basic services and comprehensive risk management.

To be an ally that contributes so that each person is a participant in the Human and Sustainable Development of the country.

Mission

They are the Program of the United Nations System (UNS) that provides support services and knowledge management for the fulfillment of the Human and Sustainable Development Goals, strengthening capacities within the framework of national priorities.

They work strategically in alliance with the other Agencies, Funds and Programs of the UN System in Venezuela, in matters of social inclusion, poverty reduction, culture of peace, governance, comprehensive risk management, environment and energy.
