About

Their Mission

The mission of the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is to promote, support, strengthen and grow the research, clinical and education enterprise of UCSF. Through teamwork and collaboration, OSR provides prompt, accurate and responsive support, enabling faculty to build relationships and successfully apply for their research funding. 

OSR includes the following offices:

Research Management Services

Research Management Services (RMS) provides expert administrative support to all researchers, from pre-award through the award process on all grant mechanisms. RMS teams collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI), his/her department and their sponsors so that PIs may be successful in their research grants.

Government & Business Contracts

GBC provides expert services including proposal development, contract negotiation and award acceptance to faculty seeking contracts with federal, state, municipal or foreign governments. Their team also provides contracting services to schools, faculty, and core labs needing negotiation and advice on training affiliations and professional services.

Their Partners

The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) partners with a range of administrative units at UCSF in order to provide seamless support to UCSF researchers.
