The University of Copenhagen's Department of Chemistry is the center for research and teaching in chemistry.

The department deals with studies of the properties, interactions and transformations of substances and material. The department is responsible for a chemistry education with specialization in, among other things, green and sustainable chemistry, in medicinal chemistry and in atmosphere chemistry. In addition, the department contributes to educations in biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, environmental chemistry and health, biotechnology / biochemistry, medicinal chemistry and nanoscience.
