In May 2005, the Japan Land Readjustment Association and the National Land Readjustment Association Federation became one corporation, and have been re-added to promote the town development business by land readjustment.
After that, on April 1, 2012, based on the so-called Public Interest Corporation Reform Law, they made a new start as a public interest incorporated association.
The land readjustment project can be said to be the most effective means for embodying urban planning in terms of area, as it can improve the urban infrastructure and promote efficient land use by utilizing the method. Until now, it has been widely used for recovery from disasters such as war damage and great earthquakes, and for town development in response to rapid urbanization, and the method is called "mother of city planning".
