At Visolis, it uses synthetic biology to manufacture high performance materials. Its systems approach, integrates innovations in synthetic biology, chemical catalysis and process scale-up to enable new bio-based manufacturing platforms. Its unique bio-based process enables it to achieve true carbon negative chemical synthesis.

Visolis is located in Berkeley, CA with close collaborations with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Pacific Northwest National Lab and University of California, Berkeley. It has  received funding from the US Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Agriculture.
