VitalTalk knows and believe that effective, empathic, and honest conversations between a clinician, patient, and their family are the cornerstones of patient-centered care.
Through the NIH-funded research, they have proven that these communication skills are learnable. What’s more, they have discovered that clinicians are eager to learn when using the right method.
They started VitalTalk as a 501c3 nonprofit so that they could disseminate the research into the real world. The innovative, interactive clinician and faculty development courses improve communication skills on an individual and institutional level.
Following the lead of social entrepreneurs, they have disrupted the ineffective continuing education model. They are charting a new route towards a culture change in patient-clinician communication.
