About

Women's Hope International (WHI) is a Swiss non-governmental organisation committed to the improvement of maternal health in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Chad.

Girls and women are given professional support during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. Women suffering from obstetric fistulas receive treatment. Women and girls are empowered in their social standing in order to eradicate forced child marriages and teenage pregnancies.

Based on Christian social ethics, they carry out their work in co-operation with their partners in a competent, professional, effective and efficient manner.

They support people irrespective of age, origin, language, religion, cultural and political conviction.
Their programmes are innovative and sustainable. Where possible, they are coordinated with the government health system.
They work together with partners in pursuit of the same goals; they work together with them long-term and help them achieve a greater degree of professional competence.
They are a learning organisation that sets high standards in all its activities.
They utilise the funds in compliance with the organisation's purpose and handle them in an economical manner. They don't accept corruption.
