As WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) they’ve moved the world to protect animals for the last 30 years. Their name may have changed, but their work – and their determination to protect animals – remains the same.
Introducing World Animal Protection
They protect the world’s animals. They always have done, and they always will. But every day, in every country, millions of animals are suffering. And the more people who know about them, the more animals they can reach. That’s why they need their name to evolve. That’s why they need a name that is clearer, more distinct and more memorable. That’s why they are now World Animal Protection.
Their name has changed, but their work – and their determination to protect animals – remains the same.
The benefits of changing their name
Their new name demonstrates who they are and what they stand for, clearly and simply. It will help more people understand what they do and what they want to achieve. And it will encourage more people to support them in transforming animals’ lives.
Why the new name won’t change what they do
Their name has changed, but the core purpose of our organisation remains the same. In fact, they believe the name change has made their purpose stronger. And the change doesn’t mean they’re forgetting their past, either. It will help them to protect their heritage, by ensuring they can keep transforming animals’ lives – as they have done for more than 50 years.
Their work with external organisations
As World Animal Protection, they’ll continue to work closely with governments, the UN, businesses and other animal welfare organisations. And they’ll keep looking for new partners to help move the world to protect animals.
Their work around the globe
As World Animal Protection, they’ll continue to work from their five regional hubs, covering Africa, North and Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe.
Why you don’t need to change a thing
There’s no need to change your direct debit, or any commitment to them in your Will, or your CAF vouchers. They’re still the same organisation, so payment will still reach them. And they’re still hugely grateful for every contribution their supporters make to their work.
