World Bank Family Network (WBFN)
World Bank Family Network (WBFN)
About
WBFN is the worldwide organization of the spouses and partners of World Bank Group (WBG) staff. As the support network for WBG families, WBFN is your “home away from home”.
WBFN has approximately 5,000 members, located in numerous WBG country locations globally and at Headquarters in Washington DC. Many of these members volunteer their time and effort to help organize and run their activities and events. From Headquarters, the Executive Committee (EC) of 10-12 volunteers governs the organization, together with the support of three Bank staff (one Coordinator and two Program Assistants) and short-term consultants as needed. Outside the US, WBFN is represented in more than 50 countries by local WBFN chapters and “connectors” who work to support members at country office locations. S
WBFN recognizes that families in transition are best helped by other families who have gone through similar experiences. WBFN therefore shares helpful relocation information with members worldwide, and maintains a supportive network through social, cultural, educational, career and youth programs, as well as advocacy on behalf of WBG families.
WBFN encourages all spouses/partners of WBG staff members (and single staff members with young children) to register as members of WBFN. Membership is free of charge.
