Our history
Established in 2010, World Trade Advisors has helped its clients achieve their goals by offering independent and practical yet innovative advice. Dr Manzoor Ahmad, who has over three decades of experience in international trade and government reforms, leads World Trade Advisors. In 2012 World Trade Advisors established its Strategic Advisory practice to offer international donor agencies, developing countries and companies interested in foreign expansion a wider range of services.
Our unique model allows for flexible partnering of key consulting resources to bring another layer of deep industry expertise to meet our clients’ needs. We draw on the extensive experience of our 18 consultants based in 6 countries to help clients identify objectives and deliver value with a holistic perspective. Our workforce consists of former management consultants, investment bankers and international trade experts – each with over a decade of experience advising institutions, governments and major corporations globally.

- WTA assists developing countries in formulation of trade policies and restructuring of tariffs to achieve a higher volume of exports
- We assist clients in identifying new global market opportunities, understanding industry and competitive dynamics, formulating strategy to effectively enter new markets; and to facilitate seamless execution
- Our Financial Institutions Group has provided financial advisory services to institutions worldwide, including asset management firms, banks, insurance companies, and market exchanges

- We assist clients with strategic advice in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures, with a focus on Asia
- Our Strategy & Technology Consulting Group has provided consulting services to institutions worldwide, including mobile providers, educational institutions and governments
- WTA is able to offer end to end systems design to implementation solutions through partnership links with IT outsource providers
- Assist clients to improve their performance, primarily through the analysis of existing organizational problems and development of plans for improvement
- We provide advice on, technical assistance to, and capacity building for WTO agreements; particularly the issues currently being negotiated as a part of the Doha Development Agenda (DDA)
- WTA provides advice and technical assistance in trade dispute settlement, import and export regulations, customs-related problems particularly Harmonized System classification issues, food security issues and for activities of international organisations dealing with trade issues (WTO, WB, WCO, UNCTAD, ITC, FAO)
- We assist companies achieve their international business goals to import, export or establish a business presence overseas
- We represent companies, trade associations and academic institutions at conferences around the world
