In Sweden, the World Wildlife Fund Foundation WWF was founded in 1971 with the aim of partly contributing to financing of the international activities and to allocating funds to Swedish research, education and practical nature conservation activities.

Today, the Swedish WWF office conducts the business largely in-house and within the framework of four departments: Forest & Species; Food, climate & energy; Social and business development;
Sea & water. The main task is to protect biodiversity and facilitate the use of natural resources in a sustainable way, both in Sweden and globally.
