A network for and by young people living with HIV
Here at Y+ they’re on a mission to make sure young people living with HIV can contribute to the HIV response.
Too many young people are affected by HIV. It’s the second largest cause of death of adolescents and young people globally, and the first in sub-Saharan Africa.
About Y+
Y+ is a global network that aims to strengthen the leadership of young people living with HIV from local to global level, empowering them to be meaningfully engaged in political and programmatic spaces that impact their lives.
What is the role of Y+?
They believe that thier voices have more power if they join together, and so they set up the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV, also known as Y+.
With so many people affected by HIV being young, it is vital that they are involved in directing the HIV response.
By joining together they create a platform where thye can be heard. Their platform is their collective ideas, thoughts, desires; made up of only young voices.
Their platform gives rise to young leaders who they support to be in decision-making spaces that matter; speaking out to represent their needs.
