Zambia Red Cross Society is a voluntary Organization belonging to the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement whose purpose is to prevent or reduce human suffering in an impartial, neutral and independent manner wherever it is found.
It is auxiliary to Government in the humanitarian field, in accordance with the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols and as the sole National Society which carries out humanitarian activities in the Republic of Zambia.
It is autonomous and independent of Government, a stance which allows us to act at all times in accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the Movement set out by the International Red Cross Movement.
It provides assistance to communities In times of Disaster…and In times of Peace…
The Motivation and Commitment to save those in need lies in the power of Humanity regardless of their nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.
It is there for the needy, no matter who they are or where they live.
