The Carl Zeiss Group is a leader in highly innovative technologies in the field of optics, precision engineering and electronic visualization. For over 160 years, ZEISS has contributed to global technological progress and various fields such as measurement and analysis.

The workshop, which was founded by Carl Zeiss in 1846 in Jena, Germany to produce precision mechanical and optical parts, has been a great success since its early years. Based on the outstanding work of the famous German physicist Ernst Karl Abbe, this attempt evolved as the birth of a world giant in optical science. After the division of Germany into two after the Second World War, it led to the emergence of two different ZEISS companies. After the political change in the former East Germany between 1989 and 1990, the two companies reunited and ZEISS has continued its stronger path as a single company since 1990.
